How age checks work on this site

Some photography galleries on this site are age-restricted. Colin Davis decides which ones. Their titles may be listed, but no image from them is shown to a visitor in the UK who has not passed an age check.

Who is checked

Visitors in the UK must pass an age check before any restricted gallery is shown. We may also ask visitors elsewhere.

How the check works

Age checks are being set up. Until they start, the restricted galleries are closed to everyone and nothing from them can be seen. When checks start, this page will say which provider runs them and which methods are used.

We will not accept tick-boxes (“I am over 18”), debit cards or PayPal.

What this site keeps

• Only that you passed.
• A cookie that says “passed until a given time”, for up to 24 hours. It is strictly necessary for the restricted galleries to work.
• No images, documents or dates of birth.
• The age-check service logs only counts of passes and fails, with the reason and method used. It does not record your IP address.

Forget my age check on this device

On a shared computer or phone, you can remove your pass: Forget my age check on this device.

If you think the result is wrong

Try the check again, in good light and with your face clear of hats and glasses. If it still fails, contact studio2@colin-davis.com and say what happened. Please never email identity documents.
